What to expect as a volunteer
First you will need to fill out the form to sign-up as a volunteer, which is linked at the bottom of this page. The sign-up form will close on November 15th.
Once volunteer sign-ups close (and we know how many volunteers we have this year) and recipient application are closed, recipient families will be chosen and notified.
Recipient families are asked to create a family Amazon Wishlist which will be shared with the Giving in Green County program organizer by November 15th. Wishlist items include toys, household essentials, hygiene products, and/or clothing. Once you are matched with a family, their wishlist will then be disbursed to you.
Volunteers will then be asked to buy items off of the family’s Amazon Wishlist. Volunteers are NOT responsible for buying all of the family's items on the wishlist, we will be matching multiple volunteers to help each selected family! Volunteers can choose to have the purchased wishlist items delivered to their personal address (which will then need to be dropped off to Mainstreet Counseling, LLC) or may choose to ship the items directly to Mainstreet Counseling at 1717 11th Street, Monroe, WI 53566.
What to expect as a recipient family
REQUIREMENTS:
Must live in Green County, WI
Must NOT have previously participated in our Christmas Program
If you meet the above requirements, and your family is in need, you are encouraged to apply! First, you will need to fill out the recipient application, which is linked at the bottom of this page. The application form will close on November 15th.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to complete the application, you will need to create and link your family’s Amazon wishlist. We ONLY operate via the Amazon platform, so this is a necessary step in the process. Your application will NOT be complete without the wishlist.
After the recipient applications are closed, the program organizer will be in contact with you shortly to let you know if your family has been selected to be a recipient this year and detail next steps in the process.
If selected, ~2-3 volunteers will be matched with your family and will be provided with your Amazon wishlist. Volunteers will then purchase items off your wishlist and can choose to drop them off at the Mainstreet Counseling office or ship them directly to the office.
In the week leading up to Christmas, the purchased gifts will be wrapped and the program organizer will be in touch with you to coordinate pick-up of your items!
Both the volunteer sign-up and recipient application form will CLOSE on November 15th!
~ Disclaimer ~
Our program is not guaranteed to cover every family who applies. We will do our best to accommodate every family, yet this program is solely volunteer-based. Depending on volunteer availability, recipients may have to be randomly selected.
